Safe Zone Training

In preparation to support the Jamestown Pride community in June (with Jamestown Pride events taking place June 11th), St. Luke’s is offering a SafeZone Training on Tuesday, May 24th at 7 pm. Offered by Emily Van Wey, the LGBTQ Liaison & Prevention Education Coordinator at Prevention Works, this training is a resource for parents, grandparents, and other adults who wish to support gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered (LGBT) young people in our community. This introductory class defines vocabulary around gender identity and sexual orientation, as well as offering concrete steps on how to support members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
