Before the austerity of Lent, we celebrate with a pre-Lenten feast of pancakes and sausage on Shrove (from the Old English—to shrive: to confess) on Tuesday, March 4 from 5pm to 7pm in St. Luke’s Undercroft. The dinner costs $7. All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit St. Luke’s Youth Service and Pilgrimage trips.

We will have services on March 5th at 7am, 12pm and 7pm at St. Luke’s, in addition to Ashes to Go offered from 1pm to 3pm offered in front of the church, on North Main Street.

On Thursday, March 6th at 7pm in St. Luke's Undercroft, the New Neighbors Coalition will host a local showing of the WNY Refugee Film Festival’s screening of three shorts, Displaced but Not Defeated, Return Date: Unknown, and Out of Aleppo (three short films by refugee teens). Tenebrae is a service of about the play of shadows and light that prepares us for the mystery of Triduum (the three holy days before Easter). With Scripture reading, singing and candle extinguishing we sink into the passion of Christ’s last days. The service will be at 7pm in the chapel.

On Maundy Thursday, we remember the new commandment that Jesus gives us by loving through humble service—even the washing of feet.
