What it was like for the wise men to follow the star? The church celebrates the story of these three travelers on the feast of the Epiphany (Jan. 6th).
Taking our cue from the wise men (or ancient astronomers, If you will), our partners at St. Luke’s Church are organizing for a special star-gazing event at the Martz-Kohl Observatory on Friday, January 6th at 6:30 pm. We will remember the wise men and enjoy the wonders of the solar system, exploring planets, stars, constellations and the moon – and using observatory telescopes (weather permitting.)
Please dress WARM for this event, as the room with the telescopes is unheated.
This family-friendly event is intended for children, youth, and adults of all ages; the Martz-Kohl Observatory is located at 176 Robbin Hill Road in Frewsburg.
To cover operational expenses, the observatory suggests a donation of $2 per student and $5 per adult, as they do not receive funding for this purpose; all donations support the observatory.
