“My Name is Pauli Murray” Film Screening

    October 11 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

On Friday, October 11th at 5 pm, St. Luke’s Commission to Dismantle Racism and Discrimination will partner with Jamestown Pride to host a dinner-and-a-movie screening of “My Name is Pauli Murray” — a documentary about a Black, non-binary Episcopal priest and attorney.

Pauli Murray, currently being commemorated as the 11th coin in the American Women Quarters program, was a legal trailblazer whose ideas influenced RBG’s fight for gender equality and Thurgood Marshall’s civil rights arguments. This is a portrait of their impact as a non-binary Black luminary: Lawyer, activist, poet, and priest who transformed the world.
This film screening is scheduled on October 11th in commemoration of National Coming Out Day and will take place in St. Luke’s Undercroft at 5pm (Enter at 4th Street Doors.)
