    Cesar Franck Organ Series

    July 8 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

On Friday, July 8th at 7:00 pm, St. Luke’s will host Ron McEntire’s third organ concert of César Franck’s works. This year being the 200th anniversary of composer César Franck’s birth (1822-1890), Ron will present Franck’s “Fantaisie in A Major”, “Cantabile”, and “Pièce Héroïque”. Franck is known for his “Symphony in D Minor,” his violin sonata, and his famous vocal piece, “Panis Angelicus,” and his 12 organ works. Franck originated the “romantic, symphonic organ” style of playing. Ron presented Franck’s Grande Pièce Symphonique, at the organ Inaugural Concert in November of 2021, and Franck’s first six pieces at a concert on Shrove Tuesday, March 1st, 2022.

“On a personal note,” Ron adds, “I feel an urgency to play while I still can, these beautiful pieces on this wonderful instrument that was created to play this music so very well. And I play in gratitude for the continued ability to play and read the music during this difficult time. Playing has been and continues to be a very spiritual healing for me.”

Light refreshments will be offered following the conclusion of the concert. All donations go to the continued care of this beautiful instrument.
