5 Centuries of Duos Concert with the Mecham Duo

You will recognize the Mecham brothers, Aaron & Boaz, from their many amazing virtuosic violin performances on special occasions at St. Luke’s. The sound of their instruments in the church is unparalleled, and this special program will explore duos from the 1600’s through the 20th century on violins, and violin and piano/organ from historically significant composers (Castello, Graun, Schubert, and Hahn) highlighted in the Mechams’ studies of Historical Performance at Oberlin. They will also be featuring a 20th century work by rising contemporary composer Nakai Weeks. During the 5 Centuries of Duos concert, Aaron’s & Boaz will also provide short discussions on the pieces that give historical context and highlight the changing musical styles as we span 500 years of music. As part of St. Luke’s concert series, admittance is free, with free-will donations accepted. We’ll see you there on Sunday, July 12 at 4pm in the Church.
