The dinner costs $7. All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit St. Luke’s Youth Service and Pilgrimage trips.

Maria\, a displaced teen from Colombia due to decades-long civil war and gang violence that took the life of her father\, uses her film as an activist tool to fight poverty and racism. Tymur\, a refugee from Ukraine\, shares his view on the cost of war and the price of the world’s dependence on fossil fuels. Mohammad fled Syria to Berlin\, and hopes he gives a voice to all refugees by exploring themes of loss\, art\, and hope in his film. SUMMARY:Creative Nonviolence Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Creative nonviolence is a toolkit developed by ordinary people to transform conflict. On Saturday\, March 15th\, from 1-3 pm\, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will host a Creative Nonviolence Workshop to explore this rich tradition. From an overview of the Civil Rights Movement to practicing conflict transformation through nonviolent action\, this workshop will be practical and interactive. Momina Di Blasio\, New Neighbors Coalition Manager\, will offer a “Know Your Rights” overview for interactions with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. Jessica Frederick will be the workshop’s facilitator: A Jamestown native who worked in the Occupied Palestinian Territories as a human rights observer and practitioner of creative nonviolence from 2007-2010\, Jessica brings years of training\, knowledge\, experience\, and passion to this topic. By attending\, participants will begin to cultivate the initial tools and insights needed to become effective advocates for peaceful conflict resolution in their own communities.
