SUMMARY:Annual Parish Picnic at Camp Onyahsa
DESCRIPTION:On June 2nd\, we’ll forgo our regular 10am service for a 10:30am service at Camp Onyasha\, followed by our annual Parish Picnic. We’ll celebrate Holy Communion\, recognize our church school kids and teachers\, listen to high school senior Grace Anderson preach the sermon and enjoy a feast at a potluck lunch that you provide. We might even find someone brave enough to take the plunge and get baptized in the Lake! Lake activities will also be available following lunch time—including swimming and\nkayaking. \nTo help you decide what to bring to the picnic try this: Last names: A – I – a “main dish” or salad;  J – Q -snacks or appetizer ; R – Z – dessert / fruit \nAlso\, bring along your own table service: plates\, plastic-ware\, serving utensils and something other to grill\, if you desire. St. Luke’s will provide: hot dogs\, hamburgers and buns; ketchup\, relish & mustard; lemonade and coffee; and extra plates\, plastic utensils\, and cups.

DESCRIPTION:This summer\, St. Luke’s will pilot Forest Church – a new intergenerational service as an opportunity to experience God in creation. On Saturday\, June 15th at 10 am\, we will gather at Bentley Nature Preserve for a short hike (less than a mile)\, a brief communion service\, a picnic lunch – and ample opportunity to experience the beauty of creation. The preserve can be accessed from Bentley Avenue\, off Route 430 (near the Strunk Road exit of I-86)\, and there is a main preserve sign\, small lane for parking and an informational kiosk at its entrance.

DESCRIPTION:As the world unites to observe World Refugee Day in June\, we are happy to announce New Neighbor’s very own World Refugee Day Celebration in Jamestown’s Winter Garden on Saturday\, June 22nd from 11am- 2pm. This event will serve as a platform for dialogue\, cultural celebration\, and community engagement. This is a perfect opportunity to learn more about different customs and traditions\, enjoy artistic expressions from around the world\, and try some snacks! The celebration will feature information tables from community organizations\, Jamestown Community College’s Global Studies Department\, an international reading challenge\, ethically- sourced goods handmade in India available for purchase\, opportunities to sample some bites from other countries\, a Henna artist\, performance and teach back by Sukanya Burman Dance\, and more! This event will be hosted with support from the Jamestown Public Market and the YWCA.
