SUMMARY:Rhythms of Grace
DESCRIPTION:St. Luke’s Ministry for Children\, Youth\, and Families will offers Rhythms of Grace – a church experience for busy families and those who may not feel comfortable in a traditional worship setting – on Saturday\, April 13th at 10am in the Undercroft.\n\nThis program especially supports children on the Autism Spectrum\, but the interactive service is also intended for families of all kinds: with small\, active children or children with special needs. Since St. Luke’s launched Rhythms of Grace this fall\, we have explored Bible stories with simple songs\, Instax photographs\, parachute games\, puppet shows\, and more.\n\nA simple\, family-friendly brunch will follow the service.

DESCRIPTION:The Chamber Ensemble returns in concert on Friday\, April 19 at 7pm in the church for a cello focused program. Enjoy a journey through time and experience both period and modern instruments. The program is hosted by Katie Ferrie and Mandy Majtan. As always\, there is no cost for the concert but there will be a freewill offering to help cover the cost of the concert.

SUMMARY:Pasta Pilgrimage Dinner
DESCRIPTION:With the gracious support of the whole congregation\, 8 youth and 3 adult pilgrims went on the journey of a lifetime—walking over 75 miles from the medieval city of Viterbo to the Vatican in Rome. On Saturday April 20th at 5:30pm\, you are invited to come feast on the experience as the youth prepare a special pasta dinner and “fill up” on all the details of the trip\, which included two impromptu baptisms\, a 9th century castle visited by Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne\, a tour of both the Vatican museums as well as the catacombs\, much delicious food and lots of blisters. There is no cost for the dinner\, but we will invite donations to start saving the for the next youth pilgrimage in 2026. Come for dinner and stay for the Trivia event following.

SUMMARY:Living As Leading: Youth Sunday
DESCRIPTION:It is a solemn tradition at St. Luke’s to let our young people take over the 10 am service for a special Youth Sunday worship planned and lead by the gifted youth of St. Luke’s. This year\, St. Luke’s Youth Sunday tradition has grown with the youth taking on the planning of two services – one in the fall and another in the spring. \nOn April 21st at 10 am in the church\, St. Luke’s will celebrate Youth Sunday. Planning this worship experience is a highlight in the programmatic year for the young people of St. Luke’s\, and this spring is no exception: the youth have chosen “Living as Leading” as the theme for the day’s service. On Youth Sunday\, the mood tends to be more playful\, and the music a bit more secular and rambunctious. Aidan McCleery\, one of St. Luke’s remarkable high school seniors (pictured here as St. John in our 2023 Christmas Eve Pageant!) will be the morning’s guest preacher. \nIn preparation for Youth Sunday\, teens from 6th through 12th grade are invited to join the youth group for lock-in the night before (April 20th at 7 pm): a rehearsal of the worship service\, games\, an overnight in the Undercroft\, and breakfast together the next morning.

DESCRIPTION:On Friday the 26th of April at 7pm in the church\, St. Luke’s is hosting a recital performed by Composer and Organist Paul Fey sponsored by our organ builder\, Heritage Pipe Organs. A German organist\, Fey will perform works by Bach and Mendelssohn; as well has his own compositions on the magnificent Aeolian Skinner pipe organ. It is a free concert\, but there will be a freewill offering. \n  \n
