DESCRIPTION:December 1st is an annual day of remembrance on the impact of HIV/AIDS in our community. We will be gathering as a community to remember those lost\, reflect on the history of the road that lead us to where we are\, and celebrate the hero’s that have helped us on the way\, rejoice in the scientific advances that are allowing us to know undetectable is a reality.\n\n\nWe will gather on Monday\, December 1st at 5:30pm in the Undercroft of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Our service will be followed by a procession to AIDS Memorial Park at East 3rd Street and Potters Alley. We will celebrate the new placement of the historical plaque from 1998 in the newly renovated park.\n\n\nRed Ribbons and Red Glow Sticks will be provided at the event. Warm beverages will be provided during and after the event. This event is sponsored by Jamestown PRIDE\, PFLAG Chautauqua\, Jamestown Renaissance Corporation and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

SUMMARY:Veterans Day Service
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our annual celebration of Veterans Day. We begin the service at 11:11am on Tuesday\, November 11 in the church to commemorate the session of the Great War. We remember those who have served by lifting our voice in prayer and song. \nOur speaker this year is Kurt Gustafson\, a lifelong parishioner at St. Luke’s. His parents are Richard and Ruby Gustafson of Lakewood. Kurt is a graduate of Southwestern High School\, Jamestown Community College\, SUNY Buffalo and the University of Toledo College of Law. \nKurt served in the U.S. Marine Corps on active duty between 1991 and 1999. He served as a Judge Advocate in 29 Palms\, California and as an Officer Selection Officer in Hyattsville\, Maryland where he achieved the rank of Captain. After serving in the Marines\, Kurt accepted a job in the Chautauqua County Attorney’s Office as an Assistant Country Attorney. After 19 years in the County Attorney’s Office\, Kurt accepted a position as a Labor Relations Specialist with Erie 2 BOCES. Kurt is the President of the Southwestern School Board and serves on the Metro YMCA Board of Directors and the Camp Onyahsa Advisory Committee. Kurt and his wife Margie are the proud parents of Nicholas and Ryan and are soon to be grandparents.

DESCRIPTION:The Wednesday Group meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 11:30 am in St. Luke’s Undercroft. We encourage any member of our church or community to join us and enjoy the fellowship of our church family\, Communion\, and a delicious lunch. The Wednesday Group is included in the church budget and takes care of the lunch provided.  The main course is catered and volunteers make the salad and dessert. \nVolunteers are always welcome to make sides\, desserts\, serve the meal\, and/or provide transportation.  If you would like to help in any way\, or just come and join our Wednesday Group family\, we would love to have you. DESCRIPTION:The next Church of the Wild will gather on July 12th at 10 am at the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy’s Chautauqua Lake Outlet Greenway\, located at 3361 Old Fluvanna Road in Jamestown. More info on the site can be found here: https://www.chautauquawatershed.org/chautauqua-lake-outlet-greenway-preserve \nThis month’s Church of the Wild is coordinated in partnership with the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy (CWC) – we will be joined by CWC Land Specialist Bethany O’Hagan\, who will be available to answer questions and provide additional information about this preserve. \nFor this excursion\, we will be crossing a creek\, so wear boots (or shoes that can get wet!) This site has enough parking for 4-6 cars\, plus street parking as well. To carpool\, meet at St. Luke’s at 9:45.

DESCRIPTION:Bishop Overs Guild\, affectionately known as BOG\, is a social group of St Luke’s women who meet on the second Tuesday of each month from 5:30 – 7:00pm for a pot luck supper\, and to discuss ways we can foster our mission to feed people. \nWe feed people in many ways\, including providing refreshments at undercroft receptions\, at our monthly pot luck suppers\, through our fundraising efforts\, and with monetary gifts. \nOur fundraising efforts are supported by bakers and volunteers from our St. Luke’s family. We thank you so much for your support and hope you will join us for dinner.  We always say grace\, welcome newcomers and enjoy a casual dinner meeting.
