In 2019, St. Luke’s began a youth group partnership with First Presbyterian Church in Jamestown. Combining the acronyms of St. Luke’s Youth Group (SLY) and Presbyterian Youth Group (PYG), the youth group is known as SLY PYG.
Our mission is to provide a safe community where youth feel unconditionally loved while empowering youth to embody Jesus’ teachings in their lives. SLY PYG offers a variety of ways to connect with God and each other through weekly groups as well as camp retreats and summer trips. At SLY PYG, youth learn experientially: through play, service, worship, and leadership throughout the year.
All youth in 5th through 12th grades are invited to participate in this program, regardless of school district, faith background (or none at all), gender identity, or sexual orientation.
SLY PYG meets on Sunday evenings. Contact Jessica Frederick (email@example.com) for more information, as meeting times and locations shift to accommodate ongoing COVID realities. SLY PYG has continued to meet throughout this pandemic, adapting to Zoom meetings, outdoor activities, and other creative programming to provide opportunities for youth to connect.
